Lylesland has long been known as a "singing Church" because of our choir through the years. It has always been of a very high quality, and although there are only thirteen members now, most of us read music and we perform an Introit and four-part Anthem every Sunday. I think we are one of only five church choirs in the town who still do this. I am sure that everyone would agree that it is important to ensure that we continue to have an effective choir, which means that we must – absolutely must – recruit new members.
Our choir practices take place on a Friday evening at 7.15pm and new members will be given a very warm welcome. Our organist, Martin Doole, works us hard but makes this great fun. Some of the time we sing old favourites but Martin is always introducing new anthems to stretch us a bit. The choir practices, everyone agrees, are a great way to finish the week!
